No Co

After an early start for breakfast in DC, we were back on the road, this time heading toward Charlotte, North Carolina. Our spirits were high, as was the sun. What was supposed to be 6.5 hours of driving somehow turned into something around 10 (I’m not saying it was my fault, but it may have been my fault). We did, however, stumble happily upon a shrine for Stonewall Jackson. Expecting to see his grave, we were surprised to find the house in which he rested as he reached death, after being shot twice in the arm and consequently catching pneumonia. For a more detailed description of our visit, see http://americanpostcard.wordpress.com and for an interview with one of the tour guides there on his political views, see http://acrossthegreatdivide.us.

That’s it for now. Sorry about the lack of pictures, there wasn’t all that much to photograph in the car, and I don’t think anyone cares about my sparkly blue visor.
